Ashleigh and Kieran’s wedding at Winters Barns was a beautiful winter celebration filled with warmth, emotion, and real connection. I had the privilege of photographing their day for around 14 hours, which meant I was able to capture the full story from the quiet moments of preparation in the morning right through to the atmosphere and energy of the evening reception.
Winter weddings have a special feel of their own, and this one was no exception. There was a calm, intimate atmosphere throughout the day, balanced with so much joy, laughter, and excitement from the people around them. Winters Barns was the perfect setting, with its rustic character, warm tones, and beautiful spaces that worked so well for both natural storytelling and more elegant portraits.

The day began with bridal preparations, where the atmosphere was relaxed and full of anticipation. At the same time, there were great moments with Kieran and the groomsmen as they got ready for the day ahead. These parts of the wedding are often full of personality, humour, and genuine friendship, and they help tell the wider story of the day in a way that feels complete and personal.
One of the real advantages of being there for 14 hours was being able to photograph the whole journey rather than just selected parts of it. From the calm of the morning preparations to the celebration and energy of the evening, the final gallery tells the full story of the day as it naturally unfolded.
Winters Barns in Winter
Once everyone arrived at Winters Barns, the atmosphere really came to life. One of the things that stood out most about Ashleigh and Kieran’s wedding was how relaxed and natural it all felt. Nothing felt forced. The smiles, the reactions, the little glances, and the emotion all came naturally, which is exactly what makes wedding photography feel timeless and real.

As the day moved into the evening, the atmosphere shifted from intimate and emotional to lively and full of fun. This is always one of my favourite parts of a wedding to photograph, because the energy changes and people relax into the celebration.
