This is why local photography holds such importance for me. Iconic places like Dover deserve to be showcased with pride, diligence, and meticulous attention to detail.

I take great pride in the fact that my photography was chosen for exhibition at Dover Library and prominently displayed throughout the facility. It was truly a privilege to have my work showcased in this manner, and it stands as a significant milestone in my development as a photographer.

Within The Gaze

This image was taken in the captivating land of Iceland on a grey, overcast day, when the light felt very flat and unremarkable, devoid of the vibrant colours one might normally expect in such a striking landscape.

At first glance, it seemed like just another ordinary capture in challenging lighting conditions. However, it was only later, during the editing process, that I noticed my own reflection subtly captured in the subject's eye, which profoundly changed the photograph for me.

This unexpected detail turned out to be a delightful surprise, transforming the image into something truly special. It became one of those rare images that feels unexpectedly personal, intimate, and quietly powerful, evoking a deeper connection and emotion that resonates with viewers.

This photograph was commended during the judge's evaluation of the photos in the "eyes only" category.

Tiny Details, Precious Memories

There is something incredibly special about the tiny details in newborn photography. A small foot resting gently in a parent’s hand captures just how precious and fleeting those early days really are.

Taken on the stunning White Cliffs of Dover in 2025, this remarkable photograph captures an iconic Highland cow seeking shelter from the relentless, biting wind sweeping across the landscape.

What I truly love and appreciate about this image is the powerful sense of strength and unwavering stillness it conveys, particularly amid such harsh, challenging conditions.

The way the cow stands resolute and steadfast against the raging elements creates a compelling portrait that feels both dramatically impactful and rich with character, reflecting the incredible resilience of nature itself in the face of adversity.

This photograph was entered into a competition and evaluated by the judges, earning a "Merit" in the animal portraits category.

Paused Jackdaw - Dover

Captured amid the iconic White Cliffs of Dover in 2025, this breathtaking photograph showcases the stunning depth of field and the perfect balance achieved through meticulous camera settings.

The details of the cliffs and the sky blend harmoniously, creating a mesmerising visual experience. I absolutely adore this shot! It not only reflects the beauty of the landscape but also highlights the skill required to capture such an exceptional moment.

Paused Jackdaw was distinguished in the aperture visualisation category and received commendation during the judges' review of the photographs.

Moody Dover Castle

I have photographed Dover Castle from many different viewpoints over the years, capturing its beauty in various lights and contexts. However, this particular image stands out for its remarkable atmosphere and prevailing sense of drama.

The mood is captivating, the light plays beautifully across the scene, and the familiar silhouette of the castle rises majestically against the backdrop.

These elements come together harmoniously to create a photograph that feels not only striking and visually appealing but also timeless. It resonates with a deep connection to the historical essence of Dover, evoking a sense of pride and wonder in all who view it.

This is one of my all-time favourite photographs, and after receiving votes, it proudly secured the top honour at Dover Library, where it is now showcased for all to enjoy.

A truly iconic landmark, steeped in rich history and overwhelming grandeur, making it an absolute privilege and delight to photograph and tell a story.

I'm genuinely thrilled that this striking image received recognition and was highly commended in the prestigious Iconic Locations category, a testament to its unique appeal and artistry.

This image was submitted to a contest, "Fortress Towers", and assessed by the judges, receiving a "Merit" award in the category. There were almost 4,000 entries.

Stormy Port of Dover

The Port of Dover offers breathtaking vistas that simply cannot be overlooked. In conjunction with the dynamic shipping activity here, this presents the perfect opportunity to capture not just any scenery, but dramatic weather conditions, striking lighting, and atmospheric, moody skies that will leave you in awe.
